When Ronnie Musgrove was Governor, Mississippi lost more than 51,000 manufacturing jobs and had a net loss of more than 38,000 nonfarm jobs:

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in December 1999, the last full month before Ronnie Musgrove started serving as governor, Mississippi had 1,158,000 people in nonfarm employment. In December 2003, Musgrove's final month in office, Mississippi had a nonfarm employment number of 1,119,600, a net loss of 38,400 nonfarm jobs in the state. 1

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in December 1999, the last full month before Ronnie Musgrove started serving as governor, Mississippi had 229,700 people in manufacturing employment. In December 2003, Musgrove's final month in office, Mississippi had a manufacturing employment number of 178,700, a net loss of 51,000 manufacturing jobs in the state. 2
